Original watercolor painting of Rose Arbor by the Sea captures a beautiful white arbor covered in fragrant red roses at peak bloom, with sailboats racing along Penobscot Bay just beyond. This was inspired by a summer drive in Brooksville, Maine.
I took a little artistic license and moved the arbor across the road to frame the view perfectly. Much better than sprawling across the homeowner's beautiful lawn for the ideal reference photo. You can almost smell the fragrance of the roses and sea wafting through the painting. What a glorious day! This one of those spots that makes you want to spread a blanket and stay all afternoon. There really is nothing like an arbor placed along the seashore. It's like a portal inviting you to another world.
This Rose Arbor by the Sea painting would be a wonderful addition to a collection of Maine seascapes. I love the idea of it in a guest bedroom decor.
