Why You'll Love It
Original watercolor painting of Hendricks Head Light captures a typical summer morning on Southport Island, near Boothbay Harbor, with a lobsterman circling around to check his traps in front of the lighthouse.
I went down early when the tide was very high, mostly covering the rocks out front. I was so excited when the fishing boat came around, adding that splash of life and movement to the scene. The weathered orange-red roof against the deep blue of the Sheepscot River is such a striking combination. You can see the lighthouse from this side angle on Dogfish Head Road, or spot it across from Five Islands in Georgetown with binoculars.
This original watercolor painting is a perfect gift for someone who loves the Boothbay region. The colors are incredibly vibrant.
