Bass Harbor Light sits on the Quiet Side of Mount Desert Island, marking the entrance to the harbor. You can walk right down to the lighthouse on the main path, or scramble down to the rocks on the right for a closer look at the water. This painting captures that view from the water, where the full drama of the cliff and ocean come together.
