Clivias are extraordinary. The long, strap-like leaves are beautiful on their own, and then the flowers arrive and everything changes. The orange and yellow really pop against the deep green. Mine bloom in mid-summer when I move them outside, and every year it feels like a celebration. This painting tries to capture that feeling.
