Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Pumpkin Island Light captures this beautiful lighthouse on Little Deer Isle. Perfect summer day, with gulls riding the wind overhead and the deep green trees framing the lighthouse, completely calm water in the small cove.
Pumpkin Island Light is one of the prettiest lighthouses along Eggemoggin Reach and Penobscot Bay, popular among sailors. It's one that I keep coming back to (I think I've painted it 4 or 5 times now). This particular view has a gull in the foreground with the most wonderful feet. It's one of my first birds that actually looked like a bird rather than a plump chicken flailing in the air. A small victory and a favorite detail!
A wonderful gift for anyone who loves lighthouses or the islands of Penobscot Bay. Pair with other Deer Isle and Penobscot Bay seascapes for a coastal gallery wall.
