Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Owls Head Lighthouse captures this beloved Rockland Harbor landmark from a close and intimate angle - looking up from near the base of the stairs with the sky reflected beautifully in the door.
Owls Head has so many great angles and this one is a favorite. I think I've painted it 6 times over the years and this is the most popular. I was inspired by the wildflowers framing the lighthouse from the walkway.
The Owls Head Light sits within a secluded park with several trails and amazing views of Penobscot Bay. You can make a full day of it, walking up to the lighthouse, heading down to the beach on the other side for a sea glass hunt, or simply watching the boats sail by with a picnic lunch at one of the tables.
A wonderful companion to my Owls Head Light print, which shows the wider view of the lighthouse from the top of the head. It's also wonderful in a lighthouse gallery wall collection.
