Why You'll Love It
Original watercolor painting of Great Wass Island captures the pristine, untouched shore of this beautiful preserve off Jonesport and Beals Island in Downeast Maine.
A gull makes lazy circles in the sky as waves gently lap the shore. The crystal clear water reveals the red and gold details of the submerged rocks while reflecting the sky on a glassy sea. Then the swirling patterns in the water's courses seem to defy gravity. This was the most challenging painting I've ever done, and I couldn't be happier with the result.
Great Wass Island is one of the most beautiful places along Maine's Bold Coast, beloved by birders and hikers. A wonderful gift for anyone who loves exploring Maine's coastal preserves. Beautiful displayed over a fireplace mantel with stones or shells found beachcombing. Pair with other Downeast Maine art for your coastal collection.
