Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Dice Head Light captures the lighthouse in Castine, Maine, in a warm palette of golds and greens that perfectly frame the white tower and keeper's house.
Castine is a beautiful historic village with spectacular views over the Penobscot River, and home to the world famous Maine Maritime Academy. The lighthouse sits on the east side of the river, and you can visit by parking on the road and walking down the driveway to explore the grounds and trails or have a picnic lunch. You can even rent the keeper's house in the summer. Sometimes spelled Dyce's Head Light, it answers to both.
My painting Lupine on Cape Rosier looks across Penobscot Bay toward Castine, and the two make a natural pair. A wonderful gift for anyone who attended Maine Maritime Academy or summers in this beautiful corner of Maine. Pair with other Penobscot Bay prints for your own art collection.
