Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Schoodic Fall captures the dramatic autumn color along the rocky shore at Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park. In the distance, a sailboat catches the wind as it makes its way across Frenchman's Bay with islands and MDI on the horizon.
The Schoodic Peninsula sits right across the bay from Mount Desert Island and offers some of the most magnificent views of the mountains, islands, and open sea in all of Acadia. If you've been out to Schoodic Point you've probably seen this exact view. What I love most about this painting is how the warm and cool colors play off each other for dramatic effect. They looked exactly like that in my original photo. The sun makes the sailboat pop beautifully, balanced by a soft focus on the foliage along the rocks that draws your eye through the whole scene.
A wonderful memento of fall in Acadia. Pair with other Schoodic or Acadia watercolors for a scenic gallery wall collection.
