Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Summer Phlox captures the carriage house at Stone Barn Farm in Salsbury Cove, near Bar Harbor, Maine. Sweeping yellow-green pastures, summer phlox growing wild in the field, and geraniums peeking through the windows on a perfect summer day.
The carriage house predates the more famous stone barn on the property, and it's usually overlooked. The history of the farm saw the farmhouse built first, then the carriage house, then the stone barn years later. I used artistic license to show how it looked before the stone barn was added, highlighting the carriage house and beautiful field views. The geraniums in the windows were inspired by the Olson House in Cushing, Maine.
This would be a wonderful gift for someone who loves old barns, homesteads, or the landscapes of Mount Desert Island. Pair with Stone Barn on Crooked Road and Stone Barn Winter prints for the full Stone Barn Farm collection.
