Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Spring's Promise captures the peaceful stream and small waterfall winding through the Asticou Azalea Garden in Northeast Harbor, Maine, in early June when the azaleas and rhododendrons put on their most spectacular show.
The garden is nestled in the woods and yet just a stone's throw from Northeast Harbor. It's right on Peabody Drive (Rt. 3), so you can't miss it. Every spring, it's a very popular destination for locals because of the beautiful blooms, ponds, and sand garden. You can almost hear the tinkling water in this painting.
The history of the garden is as beautiful as the garden itself. Renowned landscape architect Beatrix Farrand dismantled her beloved garden at Reef Point in Bar Harbor. The plants were divided between Asticou Azalea Garden and Thuya Garden, where they continue to thrive. If you're visiting Bar Harbor or Acadia, both gardens belong on your list.
Spring's Promise prints are a lovely addition to a garden-inspired gallery wall or entryway decor.
