Why You'll Love It
Watercolor print of Scarborough Marsh captures a Great Blue Heron standing watch over one of the pools in the golden salt marsh along the Eastern Trail at Pine Point. For my painting, I was inspired by the sea of soft ochre grasses and blue sky reflections in the late afternoon light.
The PIne Point section of the Eastern Trail follows the salt marsh and Nonesuch River through one of the finest birding spots in Southern Maine. On a late afternoon walk, you're likely to see Great Blue Herons, Snowy and Great Egrets, and if you're lucky, a seal playing nearby in the river. The golden grasses glow against the blue in a way that is almost impossible to describe and deeply satisfying to paint.
A wonderful gift for a birder or anyone who lives or vacations in Southern Maine. Pair with other coastal Maine prints for your collection.
