Ames Pond Print
From $12.00
Pink waterlilies adorn lovely Ames Pond in the heart of Stonington, Maine.
Ames Pond is a hidden gem located in the heart of Stonington, Maine. This beautiful pond has thousands of waterlilies. It’s a great place to spot otters, beavers, ducks, and great blue herons (my favorites). It’s at the end of Indian Point Road, just past Yellow House.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a giclee print?
Giclee prints are archival reproductions made from a high-resolution digital scan with special pigment-based inks and 100% cotton paper. The resulting print has incredibly rich, vibrant colors and details that perfectly mirror the transparent qualities of the original watercolor. A giclee should maintain its color integrity for more than 180 years when displayed under glass, out of the sun.
How closely do the prints match the original watercolors?
I do all of my own painting, scanning, and printing right here in my studio. It’s really important to me that the giclee prints match the original paintings as closely as is possible. In fact, I work at color matching until I can’t tell the difference unless I’m handling the paper.
How accurate are the colors online?
The physical art matches what I see on my computer, but it might look slightly different on yours. For example, colors are a little more muted on my phone than on my Mac. Also keep in mind also that the smaller the image, the sharper it appears online and in person.
Do you offer digital downloads?
My artwork is available as original watercolors and giclee prints. I don’t offer digital files, licensing, or other uses of my art because I can’t control the quality of the final product. It’s really that simple. It’s important that any reproductions maintain the integrity of the original art.
How do I know which size print to purchase?
I recommend taping pieces of computer paper together to create a mockup the same size as your art. You can even tape it to your wall with blue painter’s tape to get a sense of scale. When you’re thinking about the frame size, you should add an additional 2-4″ on each side to account for the frame width. (I also recommend this technique for gallery walls.)
I’m happy to help walk you through this process – just contact me.
Do you offer custom framing?
I don’t provide framing services myself, but I’m happy to make suggestions. Most of my prints are ready to slip into a standard sized frame (with or without a mat). It’s generally best if the person(s) who will be living with the frame participate in the selection.
Do you have an open studio?
I wish! My studio is pretty cozy, so the best place to view my art is on my website or at Small Wonder Gallery in Camden. I include inspiration photos to help you visualize art in your home.
Can I make changes to my order?
Possibly – please contact me immediately to see if your order has already been processed.
